A little bit about me
Originally I am from Connecticut; I have lived there my whole life, with my older brother and younger sister. I attended a technical high school where I earned my hairdressing license. During the summers, I work at a hair salon but still have time to do my favorite activities. I love to swim, hike, and spend time with my family. In the winter, my family and I all love to ski. After graduating high school, I attended the College of Saint Rose in Albany, New York. There I was enrolled in a five-year BSM in Social Studies Education and Special Education. While I enjoyed attending school and running competitively there, I recently transferred to the University of Mary to finish my degree. With slight changes to my major, History Education and a minor in Special Education, I can still fulfill my goals of being a History teacher and eventually pursuing a Masters in Special Education.
Why History Education?
Ever since I was young, my mom was always great about taking my siblings and me to places in New England. In elementary school, we had lots of opportunities for historical field trips, which deepened my interest in the topic of history. As I got older, the significance of all these places I once visited came into focus; I appreciated the magnitude of them. My love for history has only grown more profound, and what better way to acknowledge it than teach it every day and share it with my future students.
